Everybody knows Michael Jackson was a little crazy. But I didn’t know he was Bruce Wayne, trying to be Peter Parker, crazy. I’m kinda late on this too, but MTV has an interview with Stan Lee from Comic-Con where he says that the late great Michael Jackson approached him about doing a Spiderman movie. Stan Lee told him that he’d have to go directly to Marvel about getting the rights to do the flick. It turns out Michael Jackson also tried to buy Marvel which could have been a Beatles catalogue-like shrewd business move at the time, (late 90′s) since comic books sales had waned and this was before Marvel started dropping blockbusters in theaters. But it’s unclear if he tried to buy Marvel after he inquired about the rights to Spidey and they shot him down… on some hostile takeover type shit. Lee admits that he doesn’t know if MJ wanted to play Spidey or if he just wanted to produce it. I’m just buggin out thinking of Michael Jackson as Peter Parker.
