The Therapy Episode

With tensions building during these past few months, due in part to the endless grind and the pressure to keep giving you that work, we decided to take a step back and have an outside person give us advice. Dr. Maya Pettiford sized up our personalities, what makes us tick, what sets us off and how we can continue to win. Reality radio doesn’t get realer.

About Combat Jack

Attorney, author and radio personality Reggie Ossé is an established authority in all things urban entertainment. He is considered the first in today’s new wave of savvy attorneys well versed and nurtured in Urban, Hip Hop and Popular culture. He is the author of “Bling, The Hip Hop Jewelry Book”, a cultural anthropology coffee table book which provides an in depth and entertaining study of man’s fascination with jewelry spanning back to the birth of civilization.

Yo, If and when you guys blow up, don’t change the format of the show. This is powerful advice from a long time fan of the show. You guys are where you are because of the format, the personalities, etc. If the format changes that will be a sad day. Great show. you guys have to get it on itunes quicker.

re: getting the shows on itunes quicker

my understanding is as soon as this show is available through this very website, it’s available on itunes. any hold up is on their end, but refreshing the podcast in itunes or using the iphone/ipad podcasts app usually can get the show instantaneously.

Another great show, but major, major props to Combat, Dallas, Premium, and King for really opening up and talking about real shit. The phrase “real talk” gets bandied about way too much when mothafuckas ain’t saying nothing.

#salutes to all ya’ll, safe journeys to A3C, can’t wait for show 100! Been a fuckin hell of a ride so far.

    Is the therapist in therapy?

  • T-Bag

Shout out to Benhameen for always playing the illest jams. I’m not going to front I fast forward through his sets but I do sample just to hear what hes and it’s always official.

  • T-Bag

I was recently reflecting on the show and I thought it was interesting that Combat stated that he trusts Dallas the most and Dallas is the only one to have repeatedly walked out on the show. It’s almost a parallel to the relationship or lack there of Combat had with his father. Combat are you seeing Dallas as a father figure as Pete sees you as a brother figure?

  • Patrick

Benny improved a bunch, worth listening to his sets.

Also don’t OD on the therapy guys, once a year would be enough. Every month?!

    Chill…

If you muhfuckas go to Sirius or some shit like that, you better find a muhfuckas to bootleg it so I can still listen

Great show, nice that all yall give up the TAPES on ya self.

Dallas tell em why you mad son. Dallas you sound bothered when you was speaking, but I don’t know if we should take you serious, because you joke alot which makes the show entertaining as F___ . I find it weird that you still have problems with whatever happened at the BBQ. However, you do disappear and leave on imaginary VACATIONS A LOT. But no disrespect, and big shout and good luck to yall on the HOMEWORK!

One of the Biggest Fans on the Westcoast. Dot Com!

Wow. This was a great show! Great to hear Pete, Dallas and Combat to open up. Dr. Pettiford analyzed your communication and what’s behind it with precision and helped you to get to opening up. It was fascinating and hilarious to see you trying honest communication while never letting it become corny and dropping the humor and jokes that are your trademark (impossible though with Dallas on board). You’re some great entertainers y’all.
Salutes from a listener in Germany. Love the Combat Jack show. Had to download every episode since I started listening, which was exactly one year ago.
