The Rza (@Rza) x Melyssa Forde (@MissMelyssaFord) Episode

Awww man. What.An.Episode.

Shoalin’s finest and WU Tang Commander In Chief, RZA stopped by the Combat Jack Show to promote his new film The Man With The Iron Fist. RZA was incredible. We talked, 5% Nation of The Gods & Earths, his top 3 books, the origin of man, spirituality, hip hop, Wu-Tang (of course) and lots more. Also filling in for Dallas Penn (sabbatical) was the lovely, beautiful and talented Melyssa Ford. Nonetheless, the thirst was contained (oh how difficult)….Also tempers flared on and off air during the show. Mercury must be in retrograde. Find out who in the crew is on his “Ocho Cinco” and may or may not rock out with us next week at A3C. Le sigh. It.Does.Not.Stop #Newmanati Bong, Bong!

Turned off presidential debates in order to hear real talk with the great RZA on my favorite podcast. Why did I just have to waste 15 minutes listening to some boring argument about plane tickets? There is too much quality on this show to focus on this boring garbage… come on guys step it up!

  • Ryan

One of the dopest shows to date! Not only is the RZA worth listening to for hours, the facilitation of the conversation and questions asked were completely on point and interesting. Like I said before, keep up the good work… Oh, and bring the pause game back!!!

  • daddy o

Nah son,I like the arguments about BS, keep that – it’s part of the charm!

    • cuzimrollin

Also they had charm before they started arguing every week..this actually takes from the charm..also if your gonna argue don’t do it with the same person every week(premium pete)..diversify your arguments fellas lol

  • Mike

Reggie, you forgot Ghostface Killa aka Pretty Tont aka Tony Starks aka Wally-b Kingpin during your Questions about the Wu to RZA. Its cool tho, still did the damn thing

  • Domjell

Keep the B.S. & spirituality, how can you say “F your radio” if you want to dilute meaningful and off kilter content. Want to see ya’ll grow but not to become another Hot 97 or Power 105 buffoonery.

  • Domjell

Great interview with the Rza, high replay value. Keep the B.S. & spirituality, how can you say “F your radio” if you want to dilute meaningful and off kilter content. Want to see ya’ll grow but not to become another Hot 97 or Power 105 buffoonery.

  • MANChild

Man great show. I would have loved to hear you guys speak to RZA a little more about aspects of life, spirituality and his path to greatness. But nonetheless, one of the best shows yet. Keep it up Fam #newmanatti

  • cuzimrollin

This arguing with premium pete shit is becoming too drawn could be talking about tons of other things instead you waste 10 minutes arguing every about movies, comics, what food you ate, what you did over the weekend..anything except that shit off air

  • T-Bag

This weeks segment of Premium Pete attack was ok. Pete didn’t get berated on air like last time. As for the interview with Rza, it was cool but Rza is too mystical and spiritual to listen to an hour of that ish. Should have been more rap and less preach, only 5% can relate to that ish

  • Mageddon

    RZA a Magical Negro, huh?

I don’t have much of a problem with the barbershop elements of the show (arguing about whatever), but I think the guests need to be shown the utmost respect. RZA is cool and smart enough to know that disrespect probably wasn’t intended, but at the same time you never want to take chances with things like that.

The people involved in the interviewing should have the nuance, finesse, and tact to balance out humor, intelligence, and respect. Those who can’t do that should have their mic time limited.

    Dope interview overall though.

    RZA is a King.
