The Bobbito Garcia Episode Feat. Guest Host Jean Grae

Showbill by Theotis Jones

When I met Bobbito back in 1989, when we were both interns at Def Jam, I never imagined dude to be facing such an illustrious career. Basketball, official #Shoemanati, a&r, label owner, author, actor, filmmaker… we talk about the origins of MF DOOM, his history with kicks, memories of the legendary Stretch & Bobbito show, his documentary ‘Doin It In The Park’ … man this is too much. PLUS Jean Grae sits in as a guest co-host. Is she gonna be a permanent feature??? Tune in.

Attorney, author and radio personality Reggie Ossé is an established authority in all things urban entertainment. He is considered the first in today’s new wave of savvy attorneys well versed and nurtured in Urban, Hip Hop and Popular culture. He is the author of “Bling, The Hip Hop Jewelry Book”, a cultural anthropology coffee table book which provides an in depth and entertaining study of man’s fascination with jewelry spanning back to the birth of civilization.

Thanks for reading my Q. on the episode. Only the first one was mine, but I’m glad my name kept being said. E-40 or Too Short would be a dope interview.

Dope interview once again. Jean Grae is mad cool. I saw her host the Rock the Bells in SF in 2005.

Bobbito is intelligent and insightful. I like how he articulated the reason for not saying “pause”. A lot of cool stories too. The mention of ball in the Philippines was awesome. I crossed up a local kid(probably a distant cousin) and he broke his tsinelas(slippers), tossed them aside and he ran the court faster than me wearing sneakers. Traffic is awful.

    Peace, Combat! Keep ’em coming!
