That star studded Haitian relief telethon thing is going down tonight. Hollywood fave George Clooney pulled major strings with MTV to make it happen with the quickness. Stars/celebs/personalities are to include a whose who on whose famous (Beyoncé, Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys, Justin Timberlake, Taylor Swift, Bono, Jay-Z, Coldplay, former President Clinton, Ben Stiller, Brad Pitt, Chris Rock, Denzel Washington, Julia Roberts, Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Meryl Streep, Robert Pattinson, Tom Hanks and Will Smith). That’s an effin huge line-up. Word on the streets is that the Louis Vuitton Don Kanye West is not invited. Are they fucking crazy?!?
Rumor is top MTV execs, Clooney and other noted white are way beyond tired of dude’s shennaigans, what with him calling out President George Bush on that Katrina thing. Plus that whole Taylor Swift brouhaha. I’m hoping to good God that this whole thing is a silly rumor, as reported by US Magazine. Only because them Haitian people need all the help they can get, badly. And if there’s ever been an event ‘Ye was born to spazz out to, it would be this one. With all that’s at stake, plus all them stars in that house, the spazz value of Mr. West automatically multiplies exponentially. On spazz value alone, I’d market this event as THAT spectacle to tune in to. I’m so willing to pay good money to see that happen. I’m sure you are too.
The money they raise tonight will be big. I’m sure with West in the house, the take in would be phenomenal. It’s a benefit, right? MTV and George Clooney need to do the right thing and request, beg even, for dude to take the stage. Several times. That would be good for this whole Haitan relief movement.
I need this, you need this. The Haitian people need this. To not let Kanye in would be an automatic #FAIL. To ban him would mean that George Clooney and MTV don’t ever care about Black people.
Let’s get that petition going.
